In this blog, we are sharing our best healing tips for the Solar Plexus chakra. But first, what is the Solar Plexus, and how do you know when your Solar Plexus Chakra needs healing?
Overview Of The Solar Plexus Chakra
- Color: Yellow
- Location: Center of the abdomen/space halfway between the belly button and the gut
- Controls: Courage, discipline, independence, individuality, ambition + digestion, abs, gut health.
- Note: E + E#
The Solar Plexus, or Manipura, is our third chakra. It controls our confidence, ego, and ability to take action. This is where we take our sense of self that we cultivated in the sacral chakra and confidently own our personality, strengths, and weaknesses, and have the courage to grow.
A healthy solar plexus chakra makes us courageous, disciplined, and motivated to achieve clear goals. We push our limits, try new things, and have a healthy sense of independence. We can also process our emotions and allow ourselves to rest, knowing when enough is enough.
The Solar Plexus Chakra is said to be the gateway to our emotions, the place of processing. While the sacral chakra is where we cultivate feelings, the Manipura chakra is what filters what is expressed and how it is digested.
This chakra is also highly connected to the gut and digestive system. When we overextend ourselves, our gut health regresses as an emotional symptom of an imbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra.
A balanced Manipura means we are confident in ourselves and our capabilities without thinking we are superior to others. When overactive, we think we’re “the s**t” and when under active we think we ARE s***t
Signs Your Solar Plexus Chakra Needs Healing
There are physical, mental, and emotional signs of an imbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra.
Physical signs of an imbalanced Solar Plexus Chakra can be bad gut health, digestive issues, burnt-out adrenals, heightened stress, and inability to sleep due to high cortisol.
If you ever feel unmotivated, unambitious, overworked, chronically stressed, or unable to rest, these are signs of emotional or mental imbalance in the Manipura.
As a society, we have been taught that hard work is valued, to the point of living in a chronic state of anxiety and stress and constantly telling ourselves we need to work more.
If you’re someone who struggles with cultivating motivation or if you struggle to allow yourself to rest, you need Solar Plexus Chakra healing.

12 Ways Heal Your Solar Plexus Chakra
Here are 12 ways you can heal your Solar Plexus Chakra!
1. Do Things That Make You Feel Brave
Courage and bravery are 2 major aspects of a healed Manipura chakra. If you never prove to yourself how strong and brave you can be, you will never develop self-confidence and your Solar Plexus will be weak.
This doesn’t mean you have to go base jumping or fight a mountain lion to prove you are brave. You just have to ask yourself “what am I afraid of?”
You can start building your courage by doing little things that make you feel scared like giving a compliment, talking to an attractive stranger, speaking up against wrongdoings, and even telling the waiter/waitress that they got your order wrong.
A healthy Solar Plexus demands you physically challenge yourself. So you can cultivate your courage such as learning to rock climb, doing a hard workout, going on a hike, learning a cartwheel, and cliff jumping.
2. Play With Fire
The element associated with the Solar Plexus is fire. It represents our inner fire and literal fire. So to heal your Solar Plexus, build a campfire and observe fire, get comfortable around fire, and maybe even learn how to fire dance.
3. Set Goals
If you are someone who struggles to set goals, you’ll likely feel that you have an unhealthy Solar Plexus chakra. Setting goals is a key aspect of having a vibrant Manipira. And we can’t just set any goals, we need goals that are in alignment with our desires.
Like I said previously, the Manipura’s element is fire, so what burning desires do you have? How can you set goals in alignment with those desires?
These could be career goals, self-development goals, fitness goals, etc. Whatever goal is in alignment with your desires is healing for your Solar Plexus.
4. Take Care Of Your Gut Health
The Solar Plexus Chakra is highly connected to our gut health and digestive system. So to heal your Solar Plexus Chakra, take care of your gut health by putting more good foods and nutrients in.
Meal prep can be highly beneficial for the Solar Plexus Chakra. So can greens juices and apple cider vinegar shots, both of which support your gut microbiome.
You can also eat foods for the solar plexus which are as follows…

Your Solar Plexus may need healing because it’s overactive! An overactive Solar Plexus can lead to burnt-out adrenals, trouble sleeping, and bad gut health. If your Solar Plexus is overactive, you’ll need healing as well.
To rebalance your Solar Plexus, make time for true rest. This doesn’t always mean more sleep, it can be but there are other forms of rest your body may need.
Go for a calm walk, do nothing, meditate, do restorative yoga, and recharge your energetic batteries in any way that works for you.
With an overactive Manipura, we tend to think “I need to do more” but the reality is, we all need to make time to do less or even do nothing!
